Trapping
We are offering two different trapping packages. Both packages are for 6 days and include lodging, meals and transportation. You are responsible for providing a valid Maine Trappers License, traps and necessary supplies.
PACKAGE ONE: Offered during the last two weeks of October, during the early season for coyotes and fox. If you have an interest in trapping either bobcat, fox or coyotes during the regular season we will accomodate your request. This package will be focused on setting foothold traps in three different land sets. It is important to understand that this type of trapping is mentally and physically demanding.
PACKAGE TWO: Features the extremely addictive and exciting Fisher and Martin trapping using trapping lines. We will set running pole sets and cubby sets on the ground. The use of 120, 160 and 220 conibear traps with be used. This package also will be physically demanding during the 6 days of trapping. I try to run my lines behind many of the gated roads, which means a lot of walking to cover the line during daylight hours.
Maine trapping season runs from November to December for all fur bearers. The early season for fox and coyotes is the last two weeks of October.

Winter Predator hunts
Imagine traveling by snowmobile, tracking by snow shoes through the pre-dawn hours of the day. Right into Maine's back country to hunt some of Maine's winter predators. The challenge of keeping warm while fooling an Eastern Coyote into exposing itself for a clean shot is unmatched. Using a mouth or electronic call to get a coyote to believe you are another coyote is the ultimate challenge. These hunts are not performed over a bait site, but by the skill of hunting the predator. Our hunts are set up on the edge of clear cut and beaver flowages.
The Maine coyote season is open year round, however, I prefer to hunt them in the winter from late December through early March when their pelts are prime.
